Motorola Razr 60 Ultra review

The iconic Razr is back with the latest addition to the revitalized series - Razr 60 Ultra. It's a flip foldable phone, duh, with a super compact body, an impressively fast 165Hz Dolby Vision screen, and the cream of the crop Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.
The new model brings spot-on improvements over the Razr 50 Ultra - higher screen resolution, flagship chipset, an ultrawide camera with macro capabilities, and a larger battery.
The Razr 60 Ultra is identical to the Motorola Razr Ultra for North America. Our review is based on the Razr 60 Ultra but most review findings should be applicable to the Razr Ultra as well.
This Moto also comes with two 50MP rear cameras - a primary wide-angle camera with OIS that can offer up to 2x lossless zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus for panoramic and macro shots. Nice! But wait, there is one more 50MP camera - the selfie one, up from 32MP on the 50 Ultra. It does not offer autofocus, though.
The new model is powered by a larger 4,700mAh battery capable of fast wired and wireless charging.
One more thing, which is probably the most obvious - the Razr 60 Ultra has a redesigned back panel, which, depending on the Pantone color option, can feature wood, vegan leather, or alcantara finish.
Motorola Razr 60 Ultra specs at a glance:
Body: 171.5x74.0x7.2mm, 199g; Plastic front (unfolded), glass front (folded, Gorilla Glass Ceramic), silicone polymer back (eco leather), aluminum frame (6000 series), hinge (stainless steel); IP48 dust and water resistant (dust > 1mm; immersible up to 1.5m for 30 min).
Display: 7.00" Foldable LTPO AMOLED, 1B colors, 165Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 4500 nits (peak), 1224x2912px resolution, 21.41:9 aspect ratio, 464ppi; Second external LTPO AMOLED, 1B colors, Dolby Vision, 165Hz, HDR10+, 3000 nits (peak), 4 inches, 1272 x 1080 pixels, 417 ppi, Gorilla Glass Ceramic.
Chipset: Qualcomm SM8750-AB Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm): Octa-core (2x4.32 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix L + 6x3.53 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix M); Adreno 830.
Memory: 512GB 16GB RAM; UFS 4.0.
OS/Software: Android 15, up to 3 major Android upgrades.
Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.8, 24mm, 1/1.56", 1.0ยตm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/2.0, 12mm, 122ห, 0.6ยตm, PDAF.
Front camera: 50 MP, f/2.0, (wide), 0.64ยตm.
Video capture: Rear camera: 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60/120fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, Dolby Vision HDR, gyro-EIS; Front camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60fps.
Battery: 4700mAh; 68W wired, 30W wireless, 5W reverse wired.
Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 7; BT 5.4, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive; NFC.
Misc: Fingerprint reader (side-mounted); stereo speakers (with Dolby Atmos).
Motorola has improved pretty much everything that we thought needed to be upgraded on the previous model - faster hardware, better screen, more versatile camera, larger battery, faster charging. It's a promising package on paper, so let's see if it delivers in practice.
Unboxing the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra
The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra ships inside a thin black box with a scented interior. It contains a USB-C cable and a premium ring case for protection and extra grip.

Infinix is shaking things up in its Note lineup by bringing even more to its headlining Pro+ model. Cameras, battery, performance - some more popular midrangers should at least feel uneasy at the sight of the Note 50 Pro+, possibly even threatened.
The new handset comes with a proper triple camera that now includes a 3x telephoto with close focusing capabilities - there are 'flagships' that can't match that. Another new addition is the ultrawide - with autofocus too, also not guaranteed in many market segments. The main camera, meanwhile, is no longer 108MP, but the new 50MP sensor here is a tiny bit larger and, we suspect, generally better. So from a single real camera (and two pretend cameras) on the Note 40 Pro+ to three real cameras on the Note 50 Pro+ - quite the improvement.
Another significant development is the relatively major battery capacity increase (from 4,600mAh to 5,200mAh), enabled by a switch to a silicon carbon cell for improved density. Also noteworthy is the new chipset - the Dimensity 8350 may not be a powerhouse, but it's up to three times more potent than the 7020 in the Note 40 Pro+. The 6.78" OLED display can go as high as 144Hz now - technically an upgrade, though a marginal one as the old one was already doing 120Hz.
he Note 40 Pro+ already featured a slew of small niceties and so does the new model. There's an underdisplay fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers (a JBL collaboration), even an FM radio. The fairly rare for the class wireless charging is not merely present, but good for up to 50W input (if you can find a compatible pad). Oh and the 100W wired charging is pretty great too.
The build has gotten more premium too, with plastic now essentially gone from the outside - the frame is aluminum, the back is glass. The dust and water protection has been upgraded too, now up to an IP64 rating (better than the IP53 of the old model, but still not doesn't cover submersion).
